Manchester United have officially appointed club legend Michael Carrick as their permanent head coach after an impressive run as interim manager.

Carrick signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year following a remarkable turnaround at Old Trafford.

The former United midfielder guided the Red Devils from 7th place to 3rd in the Premier League, securing UEFA Champions League qualification with several games remaining.

Since taking over in January 2026, Carrick has recorded 11 wins in 16 matches, including major victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
