Roads are bad and traffic is building up. Traffic robbers are also moving in to take advantage of bad roads to rob commuters. It is a rising trend along highways into major cities. Lagoa and Kano are worst hit.

The Yoruba nation protest was planned, then called off, then reinstated. It has held, resulting in the shooting dead of a young person. But dozens have been arrested.

A variant of the coronavirus is on the horizon, but so too is a third wave of the pandemic that's hit the world in Nigeria. The economy, which is still recovering from more than six months of lockdown, hangs in the balance.

Traffic robbers are unleashing terror on commuters along major roads within Nigeria’s foremost commercial cities of Lagos and Kano, leaving their victims in pains agony and even death, findings by Daily Trust have shown.

Our correspondents report that the criminal gangs take advantage of the endless and frustrating traffic situation in these cities to dispossess innocent residents of their belongings including phones, handbags, laptops, and other valuables. In both cities, the attackers are said to be teenagers and others in their 20’s who reportedly operate under the influence of drugs.
